Since beginning to follow Jesus as a teen, I've wrestled deeply with whether Christianity is true, whether God is good or beautiful, and whether I can actually trust Christian institutions. I still have doubts sometimes, but my long pilgrimage through doubt lead me to a deeper faith in Christ.
That's why I love helping Christians navigate doubt. As a result I founded a ministry that specifically serves doubting Christians....

Following Jesus' Lead
Ministry to doubters isn't something we need to come up with. Jesus interacted with many doubters during his ministry and Doubters Welcome strives to adopt his approach.
Jesus was shockingly gracious to doubters. He always allowed people to be totally honest about doubt. He engaged their doubts with patience, humility, gentleness, and wisdom, while always offering hope.
He treated any sincere question as a worthy question, and looked through the question to the heart of the question-asker. As a result, his responses addressed their deepest concerns and invited them on a journey toward a deeper and richer faith in him.
1. Journeying with doubting Christians
Once we decide to go on an honest journey through doubt, there is no going back how things used to be. We will be changed and that's a scary thought! But that change doesn't have to be degraded faith, it can be a deeper, richer, more mature faith in Christ. In fact, stat. It's a long, difficult pilgrimage. Being patient, humble, gentle, and wise like Jesus inspired the ministry to not pretend to have all the answers, but to offer to intentionally "journey with" doubters as they go on the difficult pilgrimage of seeking Christ anew.
2. Being honest about doubt and hopeful about faith
Some places champion faith but struggle to host nuanced conversations about doubt. Different forums are open to every expression of doubt, but place no hope in Christ. In a world that is increasingly polarized and anxious, a space like Doubters Welcome, which aims to be honest and hopeful, does not happen by chance. It takes courage and fortitude to offer doubters the support Jesus wants them to have.
